It's been a fairly long year for the mod, with inevitable slowdowns and
real life trials playing havok with the team. As a consequence, there
have a been a fair few ups and downs. Lets begin with the few downs. In
the last half of the year, we lost members Mojo and Shadowill, whose
work on the mod remains as a testament to their hard work. Likewise,
others in the team have found themselves playing a more restrained role
on the team due to real life cutting in. Coding in particular has had
its progress slowed to a crawl, however most other areas continue to
progress without too much interference. So despite the loss of two of
our members, we continue to strive to make the mod great and work ever
closer to that holy grail of a beta.

Its July 1st today! There has been a lot of commotion going on behind the walls here at MK:S. The Team has been working hard at getting this Mod ready for the public eye. Today is the day that you all get some insight on what's been brewing back here all this time. First I would like to thank all of the community members for any donations that they have sent to us. It does help with the costs. Recently, everyone's been asking, "Are we still working hard on this mod?" and the answer is always YES! When the Orange Box SDK was released, we basically had to recode what we already had created for the mod. There has been a lot of changes and new things we wanted to include to make the experience better. At the same time we were talking with the community on what they thought about MarioKart in general on what they liked and disliked. So we took a lot of new ideas into play and threw some old ones out. This happened all at once, so it hit us hard. But now we are over the huge hill and coming down with some headroom.

Hello Community,
We just wanted to let you know that we are still working behind the scenes. As always, we are working very hard in all areas to help get this to public release soon. We have many changes that we hope to be able to show off in the near future.
We also have a new team member ( Ramu ) who will be helping us in the coding department. Ramu has good experience with coding and has lots to offer to the team to help speed up the process in this field. If you see him in the forums please welcome him and say hello.
MK:S is still seeking anyone who would be interested in helping with sound fx such as weapon noises, crash sounds, etc... If you are interested please send any applications to jobs @ mariokartsource.com.
Thanks for all of your support!
